The Restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque village of Zia, high above the island of Kos, Oromedon Restaurant offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. We arrived in Zia in the late afternoon and hadn't booked a restaurant for our evening meal. As we wandered the cobbled streets, we were captivated by the rustic charm of Oromedon. The restaurant is surrounded by lush greenery and features a traditional stone exterior. We asked about a reservation and were over the moon when they confirmed that they had space for us on the top terrace.
The interior is cozy and inviting, with wooden tables and chairs and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The highlight, however, is the outdoor terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the sunset over the sea. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with loved ones, while soaking up the ambiance.
The Food
The menu at Oromedon features a wide range of traditional Greek dishes, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From succulent grilled meats to flavorful seafood, there's something to satisfy every palate.
For us as a family of 4, we started off with some bread, olives and tzatziki. We then shared the farmers mushrooms, shrimps and meatballs. The mushrooms smothered in a garlic and wine sauce then topped with melted cheese were outstanding, even my husband who isn't a fan of mushrooms was obsessed.
For our main we chose the mixed grill to share. This was a huge amount of food (chicken, souvlak, pork steak, bifteki, sausage and mustard sauce, served with fries) and was all cooked very well and tasted delicious. Our boys had burger and fries and chicken and fries from the children's menu and also dipped into ours as there was so much to go around.
The Service
The service at Oromedon was impeccable. From the moment that we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were always smiling and happy to help, they even accommodated our toddler who wanted to play with his new toy car on the floor.
Our overall dining experience was an amazing and memorable one. If you're looking for a restaurant with top-notch service, Oromedon is definitely worth a visit.
